Why is ethical leadership important? Is it just a phrase a buzz word? Why should we care? In big corporates especially being ethical is a baseline to help with governance, fair application, support employees in their development but also to ensure aligning to policies, law and echoing what the company project inside out? What do you know about dignity at work? Have you ever noticed even though a fundamental right it sometimes isn’t a given to all? Everyone deserves and needs dignity at work as a foundation to thrive. From basic human rights, to a level of transparency and equal opportunity.
Even though The Constitution doesn’t call this out directly Article 31 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights emphasizes the right to fair and just working conditions, which includes respect for health, safety, and dignity. There are in-fact globally multiple laws that uphold this – whilst policies can be ambiguous the law is the law. I look into the effects of dignity at work in more detail its catalytic effects on retention, top and bottom line plus workplace evolution.
